A little about Lisa's dancing :

From the young age of 6 I used to dance around the living room until my mum decided it was time to put me into a dance school. this is where i participated in Tap, Ballet and Disco.
For at least 6 years I stayed at the dance school then decided I wanted a new challenge so i then went into rock 'n' roll (Jive). I danced jive for many years and then i was introduced to another type of dance, Latin American.
Latin is the most passionate type of dance i have learned in my dance career. In dancing latin, this is where my confidence grew as an individual performer learning the styles of Cha Cha,Rhumba,Samba,Paso Doble and Salsa.
Another few years had gone by and i was then approached to dance in the Country and Western scene. This was a form of dance i was totally oblivious to and did not know what it consisted of. I further discovered it was couples dancing involving the dances of Cha Cha,Waltz,Two Step,Night club two step,East Coast Swing and West Coast Swing.
This was the first form of dancing that i started to compete in. To my achievements of competing I became Scottish Champion, Irish Champion, British Champion as well as going to the world championships where i was ranked 2nd in the WORLD. This was a massive achievement for only dancing and competing for 1 - 2 years.
Dancing socially is where West Coast Swing was very popular in the Country and Western scene.
I furthered my interest in west coast swing and concentrated soley on this type of dance. However it was really hard for me as i had no solid partner to constantly dance with, this is where David comes in. We have been partners for many years and david used to watch from the "side lines" when i was competing & Teaching. David then decided he wanted me to teach him to dance. This was so exciting for me as a new challenge in my dance career. A new partnership formation had begun... We started going to the dance studio to learn west coast and practice new styles and techniques this is where all the hard work and dedication came in, and the two of us are now teaching West Coast Swing under our own company name swingtastic..
Watch this space though ...as there will be plenty more to come in the near future from myself and David.
In April 2008 Myself and David entered the uk wcs championships competition held by Jive Addiction, We danced in the open strictly swing division where we made the finals and went on to take 6th Place, We see this as a massive achievement as we have been dancing together 9 months and David was a complete beginner in dancing having never danced any style of dance before.
A little about David's dancing:

Dancing is a fairly new part of my life. It was not until May 2007 I decided it was time for me to give dancing a go. I was so used to watching Lisa dance in competitions and teaching on a weekly basis, so i thought it was time i took up a new interest in life.
Lisa and myself started going to the dance studio ocasionally for approximatly 2 months, and this is where my dancing career really kicked off. Learning the basics then progressing into complex variations & timings. I really started to get interested in West Coast Swing and even more so when i went to my first dance weekender as a dancer. We went to southport in june 2007 and saw the 5x U.S.A. champions Jordan Frisbee & Tatiana Mollmann and they were just simply phenomenal. The dance ability this couple have was just amazing.
It was thereafter that event I realised i really wanted to study the dance of West Coast Swing. Due to hard practice sessions and endless blisters on my feet, I now dance and teach west coast swing ...I know i have not been dancing for as long as lisa but the passion for the dance is 100% the same as lisa.
